Olfactory deficits in major depressive disorders and venlafaxine treatment response


In a collaborative paper with the Perception and Memory Unit at the Institut Pasteur, the Department of Epidemiology and Population Health, American University of Beirut and the Smell and Taste Clinic in TU Dresden (Germany), the Moods team showed that the olfactory dysfunctions associated with major depression are uncorrelated with the depression severity but that they are restored after antidepressant drug treatment only in remitters.
