Dr. Tritschler continues now to work in vivo, he is studying the effects of the activation level of the hippocampus on the depressive-like behaviour as well as the changes induced by this stimulation on the hippocampus related brain areas.

Research Theme

Before to join the laboratory, Dr. Tritschler performed a 3 years Postdoctoral position at the Department of Neurology at the Mannheim University Hospital, Germany Directed by Pr. S. Meairs. This has followed a 18-month stay at the ISTEM laboratory in Evry, France Directed by Dr. S. Onteniente, and a 18-month stay in the industry at sanofi-aventis, Vitry-sur-Seine, France, at the Department of neurodegenerative disease, directed by Drs. Duverger and Debeir. Dr. Tritschler completed his PhD thesis at the Laboratory of Neurobiology of Rhythms, Strasbourg, France.

Dr. Tritschler was always interested in topics related to the physiology or physio-pathology and involving in vivo studies.

During his PhD formation, he worked on the understanding of the circadian clock organisation by using two outputs of the clock: the melatonin and the corticosterone rhythms. For the following post-doctoral positions:

-First, he developed and characterised a spinal cord injury model in the rat

-Second, he worked on the relations between the graft and the host in the case of human stem cells graft in a rat model of striatal ischemia

-Third, he studied the effects of mesenchymal stem cells conditioned medium on a rat model of the stroke.
